How to Set Up
Mail for Mac OS X (10.3)
to Send and Receive Email
 

Step 1:

  • Open Mail.

 

Step 2:

  1. In the Full Name field, type your name.

  2. In the Email Address field, type your Island Email address (e.g., yourname@islandemail.com).

  3. In the Incoming mail server field, enter
    pop.islandemail.com

  4. Click the arrow box on the Account Type pop-up list and choose POP.

  5. In the User Name field, type your Island Email address (e.g., yourname@islandemail.com).

  6. In the Password field, type your Island Email password.

  7. In the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field, enter
    mail.islandemail.com

  8. Click the OK button.

Note: At this point, Mail will attempt to contact the mail server. If it fails, click the Continue button on the warning message that appears to continue with the set up.

 

 

Step 3:

  • Click the No button.

 

Step 4:

  • Click the No button.

 

Step 5:

  • From the Mail menu, choose Preferences.

 

 

Step 6:

  • Click the Accounts icon.

 

Step 7:

  • Click the arrow box on the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) pop-up list and choose Add Server.

 

Step 8:

  1. From the Edit menu, choose Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings.

  2. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, enter your SMTP server info.

  3. Click the arrow box on the Authentication pop-up list and choose Password.

  4. In the User Name field, type your Island Email address (e.g., yourname@islandemail.com).

  5. In the Password field, type your password.

  6. Click the OK button.

 

Step 9:

  • Close the Accounts window.

 

Step 9:

  • Click the Save button.
