{"id":638,"date":"2012-06-26T19:22:26","date_gmt":"2012-06-26T19:22:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.islandtechnologies.net\/blog\/blog\/?p=638"},"modified":"2012-06-26T19:22:26","modified_gmt":"2012-06-26T19:22:26","slug":"apples-mobileme-service-ends-june-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.islandtechnologies.net\/blog\/apples-mobileme-service-ends-june-30\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple&#8217;s MobileMe Service Ends June 30"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>If you are a user of Apple&#8217;s MobileMe services, please be sure to read this announcement.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As part of Apple&#8217;s rollout of iCloud &#8212; which replaces the long-standing MobileMe suite of services &#8212; <strong>all MobileMe content will be going permanently offline on Saturday, June 30, 2012.\u00a0 If you wish to continue to have access to your MobileMe content (including photos, video, iDisk files, iWeb websites, and calendar &amp; contacts entries), you must download it before this deadline!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Note that you should save all important MobileMe content whether you&#8217;re already using iCloud or not &#8212; per Apple,<em> &#8220;All MobileMe members, even if they moved to iCloud, should save their  Gallery photos and movies, iDisk files, and move their iWeb sites before  MobileMe ends on June 30, 2012. Members who don&#8217;t move to iCloud should  also make sure they have saved local copies of their contacts and  calendar data.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re planning on making the move from MobileMe to iCloud, thereby continuing to enjoy free and automatic syncing of your mail, contacts and calendars, you&#8217;ll definitely want to <strong>migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud before June 30th, 2012.\u00a0 Also, note that iCloud requires iOS 5 on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch; OS X Lion v10.7.2  or later on a Mac; and Microsoft Windows 7 or Vista (Service Pack 2 or  later) on a PC. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If your devices don&#8217;t fully support iCloud, you can still keep using your me.com email on all your devices &#8212; just go to <a title=\"http:\/\/me.com\/move\" href=\"http:\/\/me.com\/move\" target=\"_blank\">me.com\/move<\/a> and select the option to keep using your email after MobileMe ends.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have questions, you can read <a title=\"http:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/HT5225\" href=\"http:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/HT5225\" target=\"_blank\">Apple&#8217;s support article on saving your MobileMe content<\/a>, <a title=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/support\/mobileme\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/support\/mobileme\/\" target=\"_blank\">contact MobileMe Support<\/a>, or <strong>give Island a call at 818.832.2310<\/strong>!<a title=\"http:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/HT5225\" href=\"http:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/HT5225\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Remember, save early, save often, and avoid headaches!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you are a user of Apple&#8217;s MobileMe services, please be sure to read this announcement.
